English on Demand Terms and Conditions 2008

In booking with us, you accept the following Terms of Registration:

Definitions
1. A course is the period from start date to end date of a single course-type as defined on our website www.englishondemand.co.uk.
2. The course duration will be 3 days for a weekend course or the number of weeks chosen by the student and agreed by English on Demand.
3. A booking consists of a single course including any accommodation and airport transfer requested through English on Demand.
4. The booking fee is the total cost of the chosen course and any accommodation and airport transfers booked through English on Demand.

Age Restriction
5. Students must be 18 or over to book a course with English on Demand.

Number of Participants
6. A maximum of 4 participants are allowed in any group course

Making a booking
7. You must complete the booking form on www.englishondemand.co.uk
8. To secure your booking you must pay either:
   *A non-returnable deposit of £250; or
   *The full booking fee, as shown on the completed booking form
9. You will receive acknowledgement of your payment by email with a copy of your booking form showing the fees you have agreed.
10. Any fees not paid at the time of booking must be paid in full at least 30 days before the start of the course or before the start of any accommodation booked through English on Demand, whichever is the earliest.
11. If you make a booking less than 30 days before the start of the course or accommodation you must pay the full fee immediately.

Payment of Fees
12. Payment of the deposit or full booking fee must be made by credit or debit card via PayPal’s secure payment service when you complete the booking form.
13. Payment of remaining booking fees may be made:
   * by credit or debit card via PayPal: or
   * by cheque made payable to English on Demand; or
   * by bank transfer
14. Cheques: Please note that if you choose to pay by cheque in Euros there is a bank handling fee (currently €35) which should be added to the amount you are paying.
15. Bank Transfers: Please contact enquiry@englishondemand.co.uk for our bank details.

16. PLEASE NOTE: You will not be allowed to start your course unless FULL PAYMENT has been received by English On Demand in accordance with the ‘payment of fees’ section.

Cancellations
17. All cancellations incur a loss of the non-returnable £250 deposit.
18. In addition the following refunds apply:
   * Cancellation more than 60 days before course start date: 100% refund of all booking fees paid to English on Demand
* Cancellation 31 to 60 days before course star date: 50% refund of all booking fees paid to English on Demand
   *Cancellation 30 days or less before the course starts: no refund
   *Cancellation after the course starts: no refund
19. These cancellation charges apply to all course cancellations for whatever reason.
20. Notice of cancellation must be in writing to English on Demand. You may be required to return any original documents that you have already been given.

Payment of refunds
21. Refunds will be made by cheque in GB pounds made payable either:
   * to you (the student) and sent to your home address; or
   * to the company paying the fees and sent to the company address.
22. Refunds of payments will be made within 30 working days of notification of cancellation.

Postponements
23. If you wish to postpone your course you must still pay the full fee at least 30 days before the original start date.
24. You must take a postponed course within 3 months of the original booking or you will lose the full course fees.

Changing your Course or Accommodation
25. Changes to a booking, from one type of course to another or from one accommodation to another, can be made up to 30 days before the course start date.
26. No refunds will be made if you choose to change your original course or accommodation to one of lesser value.
27. If you choose to change your original choice of course or accommodation to one of greater value you must pay the difference between the two at least 30 days before the start of the original course.

Extending your booking
28. Course extensions may be requested at any time before or during a course, subject to availability.
29. English on Demand will endeavour to meet such requests but may not always be able to do so.
30. If an extension is agreed the fee for the extended period must be paid at least 30 days before the course start date or immediately if the course has already started.
31. Please note it may not always be possible to stay in the same accommodation for the extended period.

Course Content
32. All English on Demand courses are tailored to the specific needs of the students attending.
33. After you make a booking you will be sent a questionnaire to establish your specific needs. Once the questionnaire has been returned an outline course will be sent.
34. You will then be contacted directly to discuss the proposed content and adapt it if necessary.
35. All students will be sent an assessment level test before the start of the course.
36. The school reserves the right to alter course dates and timetables, fees and any particulars without prior notice.

Classes
37. Courses of 1 to 6 weeks duration run from Monday to Friday each week. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are free time.
38. Weekend courses run from Friday to Sunday.
39. The normal timetable for each course is as follows
40. Full day Super Intensive and Weekend classes are from 9:30 to 12:30 in the mornings and from 13.30 to 16.30 in the afternoons.
41. Half day Semi Intensive classes are from 9:00 to 12:30 each day.
42. There will be breaks for refreshments in mid-morning and mid-afternoon

Missed classes
43. You are expected to arrive punctually for your lessons and to attend all lessons that you have booked for.
44. No refund will be given if you do not attend part or all of your course. This includes any period of illness during the course.
45. Courses will not be extended due to absence or illness.
46. No refund will be given in the event of disruption or cancellation of lessons due to circumstances beyond the control of English on Demand, including public transport incidents, strikes, terrorism or public disorder.

Holidays
47. English on Demand is open every day of the year and does not close for public holidays except Christmas Day and Boxing Day, 25/26 December, in the UK.
48. Courses will not be interrupted or lose any time due to public holidays.

Insurance
49. English on Demand or host families will not be responsible for any cause or liability in the case of accidents, illness, loss of possessions, theft, or damage to personal effects.
50. We strongly recommend that you take out adequate travel insurance before leaving your home country to cover medical costs and repatriation costs in the case of an accident.
51. We also strongly recommend that you take out insurance to cover the cost of your Booking Fee in case you are unable to start or finish your course for reasons outside our control, such as illness.

Excursions
52. For Semi-Intensive courses you will receive a list of excursions to choose from. You will be responsible for paying entrance fees to attractions where applicable.

Accommodation
53. Hotel bookings are the sole responsibility of students.
54. A selection of suitable hotels close to the training centre can be found on www.englishondemand.co.uk. This selection is given for information only and does not imply any recommendation by English on Demand.
55. Homestays and Apartments can be booked and paid for through English on Demand. Please complete the information requested on our Booking Form.
56. Homestay accommodation is arranged through our agency partners who select and regularly inspect host families and apartments to ensure the highest standards and quality of service; all homestay accommodation meets British Council and ARELS recommended standards.
57. You will be offered accommodation as requested on the Booking Form as soon as the full booking fee has been received.
58. If the requested accommodation is not available, we will offer you the next best alternative. Please book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
59. Homestay fees are included in the booking fee.
60. . If you fail to arrive at the accommodation, you will lose the fees paid for that accommodation.
61. Accommodation fees are not refundable if you cut short your stay after your arrival.
62. If your accommodation is unsuitable we will endeavour to find you a suitable alternative. In this case a one-week notice period must be given to the family.
63.If you decide to move out of a family into your own accommodation, you must give two weeks notice of departure. No refund will be allowed in these circumstances.
64. If the family decides that they want you to leave they too must give you two weeks notice.
65. All our other standard terms and conditions as stated above for cancellation and postponement apply.
66. You will receive details of your host family address at least 5 days before the accommodation starting date.

Travel, Transport, Airport Transfers
67. Our prices do not include flights or other transport to our courses. Students must make their own travel arrangements and are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents, such as valid passport and visa.
68. Airport transfers can be requested by giving the flight details requested on the Booking Form.
69. English on Demand will not accept responsibility where incorrect flight information has been given. In this case, no refund of airport transfer fees will be given if the student is not picked up.
70. English on Demand will seek to recover all costs arising where incorrect flight information has been given.

Complaints
71.. If you feel you have a genuine reason for complaint, you should tell English on Demand as soon as possible.We will then respond to all reasonable complaints and do all we can to resolve any problems.
72. We will not, unfortunately, be able to respond to complaints made after you have finished your course, unless the complaint was first made while you were still attending the course and reasonable opportunity was given to English on Demand to respond to the complaint while you were attending the course

General
73. English on Demand reserves the right to cancel a course, to offer alternative dates or venues, and to make changes to course arrangements as required.
74. English on Demand endeavours to ensure that our students receive the service and products that they book. We cannot, however, take responsibility for disruptions to courses resulting from forces outside our control (such as earthquakes, other natural disasters, strikes, terrorism), the fault of the student, or the actions of a third party.
75. English on Demand cannot accept responsibility for amendments to bookings, such as changes in arrangements for transport, course content, accommodation, insurance or any other matters, where made by other parties.
76. Lessons lost as a result of the above causes will not be recovered or refunds given.
77. Smoking is prohibited anywhere in buildings where English on Demand courses take place.
78. English on Demand reserves the right to use photographs taken during courses to illustrate its promotional material.
79. Although every effort has been made to ensure that the information contained in our literature and website is accurate, English on Demand does not accept any responsibility for errors or omissions.
